We have some new dumps from an unusual arcade hardware called High Rate DVD, a DVD-based mahjong system released by Nichibutsu in different volumes, you can read more about here:

New arrivals 12/07/2017

256KB binary dumps have been provided by ‘system11’ on Dumping Union list, I took care of reversing them to GAL16V8 targeting devices. Each PAL (identified by a colored stripe or dot on chip)  is shared among more than a volume and other Mahjong games too, you will find info on database. Thanks to ‘system11 who also successfully tested dumps back on hardware.

  • Multi Game III.This is  an hacked clone of the Nintendo Play-Choice system but hardware is based on the Famicom/Nes home console, you can select 21 games.Devices were three in total, I reversed them in GAL devices ( GAL20V8 and GAL22V10 replacements available for the original PAL20L8)

  • Cross Blades (Japanese release of Blade Master!).The game runs on Irem M92 hardware, device was a secured PAL16L8 (labeled ‘M92-D-3J-‘ @IC26 on ROM board) which I reversed and successfully tested in a GAL16V8

A quick PAL update today.

‘coolmod’ sent it a dump from a Bagman PCB, device is an unlocked PAL16R6.Since his PCB is faulty we have no means to test a GAL16V8 replacement so we mark this dump as “assumed working”.Thanks to him anyway.

I redumped the PAL marked ‘SYS87B-3’ (@8D on CPU board) from an Ordyne PCB (Namco System 2 hardware) and successfully reversed and tested into a GAL22V10.This replaces the native PAL12L10 dump we had.

  • Bubble Bobble prototype.

The board has been acquired by MAME Dev team and dumped by ‘brizzo’ which provided also binary dump of the PAL @IC19, thanks to them.I took care of reversing it in a GAL16V8 fuse map.The PAL is present also on Tokio PCB since the prototype run on this hardware.Dump is untested for now.

  • Victory Road

Dumps in native PAL format have been provided by Kevin Eshbach on Dumping Union, thanks to him. These for now are marked as “assumed working” until further test will be done on PCB.

  • Over Drive

I dumped the two PALs from this Konami racing game and successfully tested them on GAL16V8 targeting devices.

Today we have some new PAL dumps.

I dumped PALs from bootlegs of Chopper I and Dynamite Dux, replacements have been successfully tested in GAL16V8 targeting device. Each board had also a registered device which was not dumpable.

I reversed into GAL16V8 a couple of binary dumps posted on Dumping Union MAME mailing list by Smitdogg. They are from Capcom CPS2 B-BOARD and a Konami  GI Classic EX satellite board (‘GS468’ hardware). Both dumps are untested for now.
